What this solves
Lynx Mining - Assays and Grade Control
Tonnage tells you how much rock moved. Grade tells you whether it was worth moving. This module puts an assay behind every ore lot: samples taken at the face, in the muck, on the belt and at the pour, sent to a lab, returned as a multi-element certificate, checked against inserted standards, and finally attached to the inventory lot they describe.
Grade is deliberately kept out of the ledger. An ore lot is valued at what it cost to mine, not at the metal it is thought to contain, because valuing ore at contained-metal value capitalises a gain nobody has realised. That figure is still computed and shown, labelled as non-accounting, because it drives the real choices: which stockpile to feed, what to blend, where cut-off falls.
Key Features
Grades are not units of measure - g/t, per cent, ppm and oz/t are dimensionless ratios, so they get their own model with an explicit conversion to g/t rather than being forced into Odoo's mass tree.
Multi-element assays - one sample yields many elements by many methods, each with its own detection limit and qualifier, all normalised to a single stored value for querying.
Sealed lab certificates - a validated certificate is hashed and locked through the shared seal, so an assay result cannot be quietly restated after decisions were taken on it.
QA-QC that blocks - inserted standards are scored by z-score, blanks against their detection limit, duplicates by half absolute relative difference. A failed standard stops validation until a manager overrides.
Grade reaches the lot - validated results write per-element grades onto the inventory lot, with contained metal and an estimated metal value that is excluded from every valuation report.
Cut-off reclassification - ore assaying below the active policy moves to low grade or waste by a two-move reclassification, never by scrapping, which would misstate the environmental deposition record.
Assay data is restricted - grades sit behind their own viewer role while tonnage stays visible to everyone.
Integrates With
lynx_mining_stock - lots, rounds and the haulage moves grades attach to.
lynx_seal - tamper-evident sealing of validated certificates.
stock_account - per-move manual valuation carrying the round's cost.
Models
mining.element - an assayable element and its payability.
mining.grade.unit - a grade unit and its conversion to g/t.
mining.sample - material taken for analysis, linked to mine and stock.
mining.assay - an analysis and its per-element results.
mining.assay.certificate - a sealed lab report.
mining.qaqc.check - a quality control insert and its verdict.
mining.lot.grade - a per-element grade on an inventory lot.
mining.cutoff.policy - the grade below which ore stops being ore.
